All About
Made On My Patch

Made On My Patch is a sustainable, community-based food-growing programme that empowers individuals with similar lived-experiences to grow, harvest, and share their own produce.

Piloted successfully in Wirral and Cheshire, Made On My Patch transforms available spaces, from windowsills to allotments, into thriving Patch Networks. Each network connects households with a dedicated patch leader, a professional gardener, a sponsoring garden centre, and a link food bank.

Participants join to build confidence, learn vital skills, make friends, and access fresh, locally-grown food. Our programme fosters community through monthly workshops, social gatherings, and a supportive digital network, ensuring that surplus produce benefits the wider community via our food bank partners. We are now expanding our resources and networks to help more people maximize their growing potential.

It works like this:

Our Patches

We currently have three patches running across the Wirral, and are always looking to find more spaces to help people grow together.

If you’re interested in starting a patch, you can access our useful resources, or get in touch with us from the contact page.

Why should you get involved?

Joining a Made On My Patch network is about much more than just gardening; it’s about personal growth and community connection. Here are just a few benefits of joining a patch:

Boost Your Confidence: You will gain practical skills and build self-assurance in a supportive, low-pressure social setting. Our structured workshops and dedicated Patch Leaders will ensure you are supported in all aspects of the programme.

Make New Friends: Become part of a local, supportive community of people with similar lived experiences who are all learning and growing together.

Learn a New Skill: Master the full process of food production, from seed to table, with guidance from a professional gardener. No experience is necessary!

Eat Healthier: Access fresh, affordable, and delicious produce that you grew yourself, right on your patch (whether it’s an allotment, a balcony, or a windowsill!).

Give Back: Contribute surplus produce to the local food bank, knowing your efforts are helping feed the wider community.

Useful Resources

Here are our helpful downloads/resources/assets! I’m unsure quite how many there will be, but for now I’ve gone with the assumption there are two!

You’ll see I’ve also included a button below – in theory, one day when our site is all grown up and has more resources, this button could take them to a full resource hub. For now though, it’s probably just going to be decorative in the design and removed on the final thing (unless we have a purpose for it!)
